Faculty members from the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department dominated "IUB Teaching and Research Excellence Award 2020". Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) recognized & awarded its faculty & staff members for accomplishing grand successes and making outstanding contributions towards the glorious achievements of the University over the last three decades. The Employee Recognition & Awards Ceremony of IUB took place on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at the university premises in Bashundhara R/A, Dhaka. The criteria for the awards were: (i) Length of Service, (ii) Teaching Excellence, (iii) Number of Citations (Google Scholar), (iv) Publication Excellence, (v) Student Service Excellence, (vi) Outstanding Staff Performance and (vii) Exceptional Services during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The awardees received Crests, Certificates and other incentives for their splendid attainments. Through the unforgettable celebration moments, Mr. A Matin Chowdhury, Chairman, Board of Trustees, honorable Trustees of the University and Prof. Milan Pagon, Vice Chancellor (Acting) distributed the awards & prizes among all awardees. During the occasion, they appreciated & acknowledged the exceptional contributions that the employees made to make IUB as one of the topmost universities of the country. On behalf of all the awardees, Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak, Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering department expressed the feeling of this employee recognition and award.

Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak, Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering department at the Independent University, Bangladesh received the Teaching Excellence Award achieving the highest average faculty evaluation point from the School of Engineering, Technology and Sciences (SETS) during 2015-2020 period. He also received the Publication Excellence - Honorable Mention Award for Journal Publication, and Publication Excellence Award 2020 for publishing the highest conference publication at SETS during 2015-2020 period. Dr. Feroz Ahmed, Professor of EEE department received the Teaching Excellence and Publication Excellence Awards both for Journal and Conference publications. Dr. Mustafa Habib Chowdhury, Associate Professor of EEE department received the Publication Excellence Award for Number of Citations. Dr. Md. Kafiul Islam, Associate Professor of EEE department received the Publication Excellence Awards for Book Chapter, Journal & Conference publications. Mr. Md. Emranul Haque, R&D Officer of EEE department received the Publication Excellence Awards for Journal & Conference publications.
